A carbon-neutral footprint by 2050. This is the ambitious target set by Lufthansa and the Lufthansa Group, and we’re putting every effort into achieving it, including making our aviation emissions as low as possible. These efforts include carbon reduction measures like the deployment of new-fuel-efficient aircraft, the use of Sustainable Aviation Fuels (SAF) and the continuous improvement of operational efficiency. One additional outcome of this strategy is Green Fares - new fares that make more sustainable travel possible both throughout Europe and on selected intercontinental routes.
With our new Green Fares you can also earn extra Points and enjoy the extra benefits of our Economy Comfort or Business Comfort fares.
Contribute to future CO2 emission savings with Green Fares throughout…
…Europe
By selecting one of the Economy Comfort Green and Business Comfort Green fares you are contributing to saving future CO2 emissions. This contribution corresponds to the use of sustainable aviation fuels (SAFs) amounting to 20% of estimated individual flight-related CO₂ emissions as well as a contribution to high-quality climate protection projects covering an estimated 80% of individual flight-related CO2 emissions. This 20:80 combination is a fundamental part of the Green Fares on European flights and allows more sustainable air travel. Flying has further impacts on the climate beyond CO2 emissions.
…the rest of the world
We now offer Green Fares on a wide range of intercontinental routes, flown by the Lufthansa Group to make your travel more sustainable.
