Warsaw’s historic Old Town in the centre of the city is part of the UNESCO World Cultural Heritage, so it would be a good point to start your exploration. The university, the Presidents Palace and many other highlights are part of the Kings Way until it ends at the Wilanow Palace.
Eat, drink, party in Warsaw
The highest and best-known building of Warsaw is the Culture Palace, a present by Stalin to the people of Poland. The enormous tower houses cinemas, theatres, bars and museums. It is a good place to get an overview over the city. Visit the Holy Cross Church, where the heart of the famous composer Frédéric Chopin is kept, while the rest of him rests on the Père Lachaise cemetery in Paris. Hungry? Try Polish specialties like Bigos, a hearty stew, or Pierogi, the polish version of ravioli. Do you want to go out and have a night on the town? Warsaw’s night live has become famous all over Europe, with new clubs and bars opening everywhere in the city. For the serious party crowd it is traditional to visit some shot bars before going out to dance. Enjoy your time in Poland, but don’t forget your flight back to London!
