1) Canada's longest pool can be found on Kitsilano Beach. The 137-meter-long saltwater oasis offers a fantastic view over the wide ocean.

2) Vancouver likes it smooth: Who would have thought that this coastal city is the birthplace of Botox? Approved as a cosmetic miracle injection in 2002.

3) Vancouver has the longest uninterrupted running path along the water. The 28-kilometer long Seaside Greenway is one of the most popular leisure spots.

4) Greenpeace was founded in Vancouver in 1971. The group of activists set an example against the US nuclear tests.

5) In 1951 US singer Bing Crosby was refused entry to a hotel because he was wearing jeans. The Levi’s brand reacted quickly and designed a denim tailcoat for the musician to match his jeans. The Canadian Tuxedo, also known as denim suit, was born.
