There are public pools in every major neighbourhood in Munich. The Südbad is in Valleystraße and I go there a lot. It's a cool, very down-to-earth indoor pool and also has a sunbathing area in the summer. I really like swimming here with other people from the neighbourhood. Tickets are affordable, so you get a really good insight into the everyday life of the locals.
