Preparation

We recommend that you use digital check-in via our website or the Lufthansa app.

Use our digital services for optimal travel preparation.

You can have your Covid-19-related documents checked from 72 to 8 hours before departure. This way you will know at an early stage whether your documents are complete and correct.

We recommend that you attach an address tag (name, mobile phone number and email address) to your item of baggage. In addition, print out the following contact form and, after completing it, place it in your item of baggage.

Take advantage of the opportunity to drop off your baggage at some airports the night before your flight to save valuable time on the day of departure.

Please also allow enough time to drop off your baggage the night before.

If there are disruptions to air traffic, your flight is delayed or even has to be cancelled, you will receive all current information about your flight here by entering your flight number.

At the airport

As a general rule, allow more time at the airport, especially if you wish to check in baggage.

Please keep your carry-on baggage to the essentials to avoid long waiting times at security.

At many airports you can drop off your baggage at our self-service bag drop kiosks, where you will also receive all baggage receipts.

You will find up-to-date information about our lounge services and the respective locations in our lounge directory.

On board

Thanks to Boarding by Group, you will be able to board your aircraft faster and in a more relaxed way. Please only board when your boarding group is called. Information about your boarding group can be found on your boarding pass.

There is no obligation to wear a mask on any flights to and from Germany.

The European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) recommends that all passengers continue to wear masks at airports and on board aircraft.
