The right insurance cover for your trip

Protect your trip with the insurance cover of our partner AIG. Our individual insurance packages already include all the important Covid-19 benefits and so protect you comprehensively even in the event that you fall ill with Covid-19.

With our insurance partner AIG Europe S.A. we offer you two individual packages for your protection. These can be purchased partly during booking and partly after booking. In addition, you also have the option of taking out travel insurance via AXA Partners.

AIG Travel Care

The insurance package Travel Care is valid in connection with a flight booking and, in addition to travel cancellation and travel interruption insurance, also includes additional Covid-19 benefits such as a compensation payment should you have to go into quarantine because of a Covid-19 infection at your destination.

AIG Travel Care Plus

AXA Partners Travel Care Basic

You can book the basic package after booking a flight. Among other things, it offers you assistance in the event of a medical emergency and cover for quarantine expenses.

  • Medical assistance and worldwide access to German- and English-speaking doctors – use of the popular app "Doctor Please!"
  • Cover for medical expenses in connection with a Covid-19 infection or treatment abroad, incl. return transport
  • Refund of hotel accommodation and rebooking costs due to quarantine or lockdown
  • Travel liability insurance and travel accident insurance
  • Cost: at a fixed amount of EUR 14.99

Terms and conditions of insurance

The insurance packages AIG Travel Care and AIG Travel Care Plus can be booked with the Lufthansa Group insurance partner AIG Europe S.A. via the direct sales channels for passengers residing in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Belgium, France, Spain, Italy, the Netherlands and Portugal*.

The insurance package AXA Partners Travel Care Basic can be booked with the Lufthansa Group insurance partner AXA Partners after a flight has been booked for passengers residing in the European Economic Area (EEA).

* Customers receive different products when making bookings involving Denmark, Finland, Greece, Ireland, Kuwait, Norway, the Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Sweden, South Africa, the Czech Republic, Hungary, the United States of America, and the United Arab Emirates.
