In Lufthansa First Class, Exclusive Design Meets Ultimate Comfort

As the official partner of the German men’s national soccer team, Lufthansa is supporting the team at the World Cup in the U.S., Canada, and Mexico – and flying them across the Atlantic to the tournament. However, Lufthansa passengers who aren’t part of the DFB squad can still look forward to a sporty highlight on board.
An Exclusive Tracksuit for Lufthansa First Class Guests
Some travelers flying to the World Cup in Lufthansa First Class from June 14 will be given a tracksuit, personally handed to them by the crew on select flights to North America. Specifically, the current adidas Germany Originals tracksuit with a turquoise jacket and dark blue pants – though in a special edition featuring the iconic Lufthansa crane logo on the back, making it an exclusive, fashionable collector’s item. One that cannot be purchased anywhere else.
“Thanks to the dark blue, which is also our brand color, the tracksuit fits wonderfully into the design world of Lufthansa and Allegris First Class as a First Class collectible,” explains Laura Reuter, who, as a marketing manager at Lufthansa, specializes in First Class communications. Lufthansa has previously delighted First Class guests with fashion collectibles – including loungewear designed in collaboration with Japanese artist Sho Shibuya, or featuring the typographic art of German artist Stefan Marx.

Lufthansa, DFB, and adidas: Three Iconic Brands in Collaboration
“This time, we’ve teamed up with adidas and the DFB to create a First Class collectible that embodies the extraordinary sporting spirit of the World Cup,” says Reuter. The tracksuit is a token of appreciation for First Class guests and is designed to provide that special wow moment, she adds.
Robert Schröder, Manager of Campaigns and Partnerships at Lufthansa, is responsible for the collaboration with the DFB. “What sets this collaboration apart is that three iconic German brands have joined forces,” he says. “The DFB has been around for more than 125 years, Lufthansa is celebrating its 100th anniversary this year, and adidas looks back on nearly 80 years of experience. Together, we’ve created a garment that authentically represents soccer culture, centered around a major sporting event that’s highly emotional and connects people around the world. That’s exactly what makes this collaboration so exciting.”
The piece embodies a zeitgeist in which there are no boundaries between comfort and luxury, between a premium first-class journey and cheering from the stands, according to Schröder. “The tracksuit brings these different worlds together quite naturally,” he says. “And that’s why it works far beyond the sporting context – in the stadium, in everyday life, or while traveling.”
Sportswear That Suits First Class Perfectly
Streetwear and sportswear have long since found their place in high fashion. Luxury fashion can also be comfortable – and that is exactly why the tracksuit fits perfectly into the world of Lufthansa First Class, which is also about a luxurious experience with a feel-good factor.
“The expectations customers have for premium travel have changed,” explains Reuter. “Today, it’s less about formality and pure exclusivity and more about an experience with attitude, character, and cultural relevance. Through collaborations with artists – or as now with adidas and the DFB – Lufthansa First Class becomes a curated space for special encounters.”
First Class guests are cosmopolitan, design-savvy, and have an eye for quality and aesthetics, but they also rightly expect the highest level of comfort throughout the entire journey, according to Reuter. “This is also reflected in the design of the Lufthansa Allegris First Class. Our exclusive fashion pieces complement this throughout the entire First Class travel experience.”
This piece translates soccer culture into a new context and brings it into Lufthansa First Class, says Schröder. “Driven by the tradition of the DFB, the design signature of adidas, and a clear understanding of premium.”
Reflecting on the impact of the new First Class collectible, Reuter adds: “Ideally, this triad of iconic German brands will result in an ‘it’ piece that endures far beyond the World Cup – and remains as a memento of a very special First Class travel experience.”
