Travel planning and booking
Enquire in good time about the entry requirements for your destination. The authorities of some destination countries may require passengers to register online before arrival.
Disruptions to flight operations can occur, especially during the holiday season when there is a high volume of passengers.
You can always find the latest notifications and general flight information on our special page.
Save your contact details under "My bookings" or in the app so that we can contact you during your trip if necessary.
For a successful start to your family holiday, you can make a lot of preparations before your trip begins.

Protect your trip with insurance cover from our partners. This is even possible after you have booked your flight.
Use our digital services for optimal travel preparation.
You can have your Covid-19-related documents checked from 72 to 8 hours before departure. This way you will know at an early stage whether your documents are complete and correct.
We recommend that you use digital check-in via our website or the Lufthansa app.
Please allow enough time to drop off your baggage.
In addition, we recommend that you provide the baggage you are checking in with an address tag (name, mobile phone number and email address) that is attached to the suitcase and is clearly visible.
Take advantage of the opportunity to drop off your baggage at some airports the night before your flight to save valuable time on the day of departure.
Please also allow enough time to drop off your baggage the night before.
If there are disruptions to air traffic, your flight is delayed or even has to be cancelled, you will receive all current information about your flight here by entering your flight number.
Only set off on your trip if you feel well. If you or a passenger travelling with you feels unwell, please rebook your flight in accordance with your fare conditions in good time before departure.
At the airport
As a general rule, allow more time at the airport, especially if you wish to check in baggage.
Please keep your carry-on baggage to the essentials to avoid long waiting times at security.
At many airports you can drop off your baggage at our self-service bag drop kiosks, where you will also receive all baggage receipts.
You will find up-to-date information about our lounge services and the respective locations in our lounge directory.
You are still obliged to wear a face mask at some airports. Please ensure that you check the regulations at your journey’s airports.
Many airports are providing Covid-19 tests. You can find information about the test centres at your departure airport after entering your departure and destination airports here.
"Group boarding" allows you to board your aircraft more quickly and keep the necessary distance on board. Please only board when your boarding group is called. Information about your boarding group can be found on your boarding pass.
