9 AM: Start the day with some excercise

When I arrive in Singapore, the first thing I do in the morning is go to the gym at my hotel. It's the best way to combat jet lag. Afterward, I treat myself to a freshly squeezed orange juice from one of the many machines that can be found all over Singapore's streets. Money in, juice out – super convenient.

11 AM: A hearty brunch

But the morning wouldn't be perfect without a hearty brunch. That's why I'm always drawn to Dempsey Hill, an area with lots of cafés, restaurants and stores. I'm particularly fond of PS.Cafe Harding Road. I love the floral and cozy interior of the place and the avocado eggs florentine and truffle fries they serve.

1 PM: Take an Uber to the Arab Quarter

Public transport is a great way to get from A to B in Singapore – the buses and subway are punctual and you can simply pay for your ticket with Apple Pay. Alternatively, you can use Grab – the Asian Uber. I often use this app to get to one of my favorite districts, the Arab Quarter. A visit to the beautiful Sultan Mosque is a must, as is a detour to nearby Haji Lane. This small street is full of individual boutiques, cozy bars and delicious restaurants. I always drink homemade mint lemonade there, which is really good in Singapore's tropical heat. The freshly squeezed watermelon and guava juices are also recommended refreshments.

3 PM: Visit Marina Bay

From the Arab Quarter, I like to make my way to Marina Bay. At the mouth of the Singapore River, the eight-meter-high Merlion statue watches over the city and its inhabitants. Unique: the fantastic view of the Marina Bay Sands, a hotel with an impressive infinity pool on the roof terrace. Not only is the building ultra-modern, but also everything around it. Just behind the hotel are the Gardens by the Bay, home to the magical Supertrees.

7 PM: Watch the light show at the Gardens by the Bay

In the evening, tourists and locals alike gather here for the light show and simply can't get enough of this attraction. I also recommend the sunset boat tours that depart from here. From the water, you can get to know Singapore in a completely different way.

9 PM: Cocktails at the rooftop bar Cé La Vi

If you fancy a drink afterward, treat yourself to a cocktail in the rooftop bar Cé La Vi at Marina Bay Sands – my absolute insider tip! Only hotel guests are actually allowed on the rooftop terrace on the 57th floor of the hotel – but if you go to Cé La Vi, you get access too.
