Please see first under Extended rebooking options for a variety of options we offer for changing your travel plans.
For passengers with older eligible tickets that have not yet been rebooked, we offer an opportunity to change/postpone the travel.
I would like to change or postpone my trip
If you are holding a ticket issued before or on 31 July 2021 with a travel date between 01 June 2020 and 31 August 2021, you also have an option exchange once to a new travel, including changes to your travel class, departure or destination airport.*
New travel must start latest by 28 February 2023. The ticket will be recalculated and additional payment may be required if the new fare is higher. To do so, please contact our Service Center or your travel agent by 18 May 2022 (for June 20 travel tickets) or by 31 May 2022 (for July 2020 – August 2021 travel tickets).
If you are unable to choose a new travel by these dates, below qualifying tickets may be exchanged first to a non-refundable Travel Credit by 18 May 2022 (for June 20 travel tickets) or by 31 May 2022 (for July 2020 – August 2021 travel tickets). The Travel Credit is valid one year from the date of issuance.
You can exchange, within one year from the issuance, this non-refundable Travel Credit once to a new travel, including changes to your travel class, departure or destination airport*, for the same traveller. The new ticket will be recalculated and additional payment may be required if the new fare is higher. If not used, Travel Credit will lose its value 1 year after the date of issuance.
Qualifying tickets are:
- Tickets issued before or on 31 July 2021 with a travel date between 01 June 2020 and 31 August 2021
- Tickets for international travel
- Tickets that are entirely unused
Non-qualifying tickets are:
- Tickets outside of the qualifying travel period. Tickets issued on/after 01 August 2021
- Tickets for Infants (e.g. babies without a seat)
- Tickets for entirely domestic travel, i.e. within one country. For example, domestic travel within Germany
- Tickets with “IT” or “BT” as a fare amount. Tickets with no value. “ID” or “AD” fares, and Miles and More award tickets
- “Cash & Mile” tickets and tickets issued from vouchers
- Non-tickets, such as extra baggage fee, advance seat selection fee, etc.
Please note
If you choose to exchange your ticket to a non-refundable Travel Credit for a future travel, entire value of your current ticket will become non-refundable. Refund of your ticket according to the fare condition may be a more attractive option, especially if you had purchased a refundable fare.
Please refer to the section I would like to cancel my trip and apply for a ticket refund for further details.
For tickets booked via a travel agency, please contact your travel agency for requests.
* Exception: An exclusive domestic ticket cannot be changed to an international route and an international ticket cannot be changed to a domestic route.
