Characteristics of the Airbus A320neo

New engines, noticeably more efficient

The “neo” in the name stands for “New Engine Option,” that is a new generation of engine that has added a noticeable enhancement to the Airbus A320. In combination with the aerodynamic sharklets on the wingtips, the A320neo uses up to 20 percent less fuel and as a result creates fewer CO2 emissions per seat than older, comparable models. On the issue of noise, the Airbus A320neo is setting new standards: on take-off the noise contour is about 50 percent less by comparison with the classic Airbus A320. This improvement benefits passengers as well as local residents.
