Planning for your studies abroad can be a daunting task. But not to worry, Lufthansa has got you covered! Our special Student Fares are offered for both one-way and return trips from selected countries. In order to book Lufthansa Student Fares, you must:
- be aged 16 and above
- be currently enrolled in a higher education institution
- have an official student email address
Please use your registered student email address to complete the student verification step, after selecting your flights. If for any reason you do not yet have a registered student email address, please e-mail us at generationfly@dlh.de with proof of your current student status showing the validity dates. We will then enable you to complete the student verification using your private email address.
Student identification, i.e. a valid educational institution-issued student identification card or University admission letter, must be presented upon request at any airport check-in counter or gate. Failure to do so may result in additional collection up to cost of the full published fare.
Our Student fares can only be booked via the links above, for the respective countries. When selecting your flights, Student fares are clearly identified as "Student".
After you have selected your flights, you will be prompted to complete the student verification step using your student email address. A verification code will then be sent to your email inbox, which you will need to input before proceeding with your booking.
Please note it is not possible to book Student fares from the lufthansa.com home page, or from the Lufthansa app.
Student fares are only available for flights departing from the origins listed above.
For departures from all other countries, you can still book our regular fares via lufthansa.com
Most Student fares offer a checked-in baggage allowance of 2 bags, each weighing no more than 23kg. Please check the conditions for your flight on the flight selection page.
Please note that all Student fares from the USA offer a checked-in baggage allowance of 1 bag, weighing no more than 23kg. Also, Student fares from France to destinations within Europe, offer checked-in baggage allowance of 1 bag, weighing no more than 23kg.
Passengers may also carry 1 item of cabin baggage weighing no more than 8kg, and another small item of baggage, e.g. handbag, laptop bag.

We regret that additional free baggage allowance cannot be added to previously made bookings.

Student fares should only be booked for one student per booking. For groups of multiple students, please make separate bookings.

No, we do not offer any futher discount for group bookings.
If you wish to reschedule/rebook, or cancel your flight booking, you can do this online by logging in to your booking.
When rebooking a Student fare, there may be a charge if the price if your new flight(s) is higher.
When cancelling a Student fare, a fee may be charged.
If you do not see the option to rebook or cancel online, or if you need further clarifications, please contact your local Service Centre for assistance.
