1) Copenhageners love their bicycles. In fact, only four out of ten Danes own a car, but nine out of ten own a bicycle. So it’s no wonder that more than half of all Copenhageners cycle to work every day. By comparison, in London only three percent of all journeys are made by bike.

2) When you say “Copenhagen,” you have to say “hot dog.” But the city can do much more than sausages in a bun! With 15 Michelin-starred restaurants, it is a center for innovative cuisine. Gourmets travel from all over the world to dine here. A current favorite is the two-star Alchemist restaurant. It is not only about excellent cuisine, but also about the show. That’s why the courses here are called acts, just like in the theater.
3) What do you mean, please? It’s hard to imagine, but the Danish language doesn’t actually have a word for please. But the Danes thank you diligently. “Tak” is the Danish word for thank you.

4) Connecting nations: Since the opening of the Øresund Bridge in 2000, it takes just over an hour to drive from Copenhagen to Malmö in Sweden. With a total length of 7.8 kilometers, the Øresund Bridge is the longest combined road and rail bridge in Europe.
