Flat rates for excess baggage for ticket sales before 18 April 2018

The rates for excess baggage can be displayed in several currencies. In this case, the following currencies serve as the basis for calculating the respective prices in the local currency:

  • CAD (for bag drop-off in Canada)
  • EUR (for bag drop-off in Europe)
  • JPY (for baggage drop-off in Japan)
  • IDR (for baggage drop-off in Indonesia) (1)
  • USD (for bag drop-off in all other countries not listed above)

Prices may vary on routes to/from the USA or Canada.

The currency applicable at the baggage drop-off location will be used for the calculation of the costs for the entire itinerary. Where appropriate, a conversion into the local currency is made afterwards.

(2) = IATA rules stipulate that the following countries belong to Europe: Albania, Algeria, Andorra, Armenia, Austria, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Belgium, Bosnia & Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark (excl. Greenland), Estonia, Faroe Islands, Finland, France, Georgia, Germany, Gibraltar, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Monaco, Montenegro, Morocco, Netherlands, Norway (+ Svalbard & Jan Mayen), Poland, Portugal, Republic of Ireland, Republic of Macedonia, Republic of Moldova, Romania, Russia (European part – west of the Urals, i.e. Moscow – DME, St Petersburg – LED), San Marino, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Tunisia, Turkey, Ukraine, United Kingdom, Vatican City.
These rules also apply to flights between Baku and Ashgabat.
(3) = The dimensions of the baggage item are calculated as the sum of the height, width and depth (height + width + depth).
(4) = Central America includes the following countries: Belize, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua, Panama
(5) = The flat rates for the second piece of checked baggage do not apply to “Round the World” tickets. In this case, the regular excess baggage rates apply.
(6) = For tickets issued before 13.06.2017, the following rates apply: EUR 75 instead of EUR 90. The amount in USD and CAD remains unchanged.
