On a culinary voyage of discovery
In November and December, chef Joachim Wissler, holder of three Michelin stars, will entertain First Class passengers flying from Germany with his menu creations.
Born in 1963 in Nürtingen, near Stuttgart, Wissler had early experience of the best gourmet cuisine: he completed his professional in the famous ‘Traube Tonbach’ luxury hotel in Baiersbronn in the Black Forest. After that he expanded his culinary horizons working with other well-known top chefs.
Joachim Wissler is one of the leading proponents of ‘New German Cuisine’. In 2006 he was awarded his third Michelin star and since then has been considered one of Germany’s finest chefs. Ever since his colleagues, the 100 best chefs in the country, chose him as their ‘Chef of Chefs’, he has headed the restaurant rankings. It is his use of subtle and clear flavours that characterises his excellent style of cooking. He concentrates on the essentials; extravagant flourishes are not ‘his thing’.
In the ‘Vendôme’ gourmet restaurant in the Grandhotel Schloss Bensberg, near Cologne, where Wissler currently works, he and his team of chefs and waiters produce a culinary voyage of discovery for guests.
Our First Class passengers on intercontinental flights from Germany will be able to enjoy his outstanding culinary creations at the end of the year.
For those passengers who prefer roast goose at this time of year, we will also be offering this dish again — prepared in the traditional way, served with red cabbage and dumplings.
