Extended rebooking options

In view of the exceptional circumstances caused by the spread of the coronavirus we offer even greater flexibility for your travel plans.
All fares and ticket prices can be rebooked for existing as well as new bookings on short, medium and long-haul routes. This also applies for cancelled flights.
If you still want to travel, we ask you to always check the status of your flight and the current travel and entry restrictions of your final or transit destination before you start your journey. These might be subject to change on short notice. The latest entry restrictions can be found via the IATA Travel Center website (no responsibility taken for the accuracy of information).
In case your flight is cancelled, your Lufthansa ticket remains valid and can be used at a later stage. Rebooking to the same destination within the same travel class is free of charge.
If you do need to fly in the coming days, please contact us to rebook your ticket. Please note that because of the current situation, rebooking flight options are limited due to the special flight schedule currently in place.
How to rebook?
You can contact us via our Service Center. Before contacting us, please make sure:
• to have your booking reference at hand
• to already have your new travel date in mind
In case you booked via an (online) travel agency, please contact them directly to be rebooked.
If one or more flights of your trip are cancelled, you have the following options:
1. You can rebook once free of charge on an alternative flight to the same destination and in the same class of carriage. The rebooking must be made within the period of ticket validity (usually one year from the original departure date).
To do so, please contact our Service Center or your travel agent as soon as possible.
2. If your ticket was issued before or on August 31, 2020, a one-time change of class of carriage, departure or destination airport is possible*. Your ticket will still retain its value and you can use it for a new trip departing by Dec. 31, 2021. The ticket will be recalculated for this trip and additional payment may be required if the new fare is higher. To do so, please contact our Service Center or your travel agent by May 31, 2021.

If your ticket is still unused, the ticket price including all taxes and fees will be refunded to the original means of payment.
If you have already used one or more legs of your trip, the unused portion of the fare value, taxes and fees will be calculated and the ticket will be refunded on a pro-rated basis accordingly.
