Be Picky: Insider Tips for Toronto

The insider tip for Toronto from mommy blogger Jill Amery: hike to the Farmers Market

My ultimate tip for the weekend: a hike along Milkman's Lane into the Don Valley. The trail leads from Rosedale about four kilometres through woods and along a river to the old Evergreen Brick Works in the Don Valley.

Whatever the time of year, there is a farmers' market here every Saturday from 9 am to 1 pm. Local farmers sell organically grown fruit and vegetables among other things. Everything else here also revolves around sustainability. There are clothes swap markets, a nature playground for children and you can try Bowls and Burger in the Picnic Cafe. Simply a special place where you can connect with other people and nature.
