Rebooking tickets

If your journey includes a booked upgrade and you wish to rebook, please contact a Lufthansa Service Center. Unfortunately, for technical reasons such tickets cannot be rebooked on lufthansa.com. The conditions of your originally booked fare apply to the rebooking.

If you wish to rebook your journey, upgrades will be cancelled and then re-requested. The following applies here:

  • all confirmed and paid-for upgrades in the booking will be cancelled and fully refunded. Please be aware that this regulation affects even those flights that you do not wish to change.
  • The rebooking is made within the original travel class using your ticket’s fare conditions. Should the original booking class not be available on the new flight, the price difference to the next highest available booking class must be paid, in addition to any rebooking charge that may be incurred.
  • Once you have successfully rebooked, you can re-request the upgrades, e.g. here on lufthansa.com. Whether an upgrade is possible depends on availability in the desired travel class at the time your new request is made.

Cancellation and refund of tickets

If you wish to cancel your journey via lufthansa.com, please note that the amount you have already paid for upgrades can only be refunded if the fare conditions of the underlying ticket permit a refund. You can cancel and request a refund of your ticket easily online on lufthansa.com. Alternatively, you can also contact the Lufthansa Service Center.

The separate reimbursement of an upgrade, i.e. its refund with regard to the flights and services in the originally booked travel class, is not possible.

Services and entitlements in the event of flight disruptions

In the case of disruptions to flights from two days before departure, the rebooking will be made within the original travel class on the original ticket’s fare conditions. The passenger will receive the full reimbursement of the upgrade payment. In the case of disruptions to flights that arise both one day before departure and on the actual day of departure, the passenger will be rebooked with the full services and entitlements of the new travel class (including confirmed and paid-for upgrades).
