Flights Toronto - Bydgoszcz: discover the middle of Poland
To get from Toronto to Bydgoszcz in central Poland, you can take a flight Toronto – Bydgoszcz from Toronto Pearson International Airport, the biggest airport in Canada. Today about 350,000 people live in the town on the banks of the Brda and the Vistula. The town was lucky not to be destroyed during the many wars it encountered and can show some really beautiful heritage in architecture.
Bydgoszcz: flower between the rivers
The sightseeing has to start in the Old Town on the old market (Stary Rynek) with the 17th century town hall. Not far away you find the River Brda that flows through the city to the Vistula River east of the historic center. On the banks of the River you will find a beautiful quarter called The Venice of Bydgoszcz, with old half-timber houses and historic storehouses directly at the waterfront. On an island in the Middle of the river, the Mill Island, was the industrial heart of the city in medieval times, when water-powered mills and the only mint of Poland were located here. It makes sense to explore this part of town from the water. Bydgoszcz employs two hypermodern solar-powered boats to do just that, which is good and extremely clean fun. Speaking of clean, the world’s only Museum of Soap and History of Dirt is located in in this city. Whether you take a walk along the promenade of the River Brda, make a kayak tour down the canals of Bydgoszcz or visit the old impressive water tower, you may feel hungry after the exploration. Try the local specialties like the aromatic potato bread. The area is also well known for the geese they breed in large quantities, so a poultry dinner is high on the agenda. This should give you the energy to explore further into Bydgoszcz. But don‘t forget to catch your flight back to Toronto!
