Our Europe fares
With the Europe fares of the Lufthansa Group airlines (Lufthansa, Austrian Airlines and SWISS), you can choose exactly the fare that suits your needs.
"Light", "Classic" or "Flex": choose from the three Economy Class fares and only pay for the services and amenities you really want to use.
Of course, Business Class services are also available on all European flights. As before, these also include our top-quality services for the sophisticated requirements of business passengers and discerning private travellers.
Economy Light
This is the basic fare at the most affordable price.
The "Light" fare is the ideal choice if you’re only travelling with carry-on baggage and know when you plan to fly, as tickets can only be rebooked for a fee and cannot be refunded. You can add one item of baggage and an advance seat reservation at any time for an additional fee.*

Economy Classic
You will receive the usual services on this standard fare.
The "Classic" fare is recommended if you don’t want to forego the usual services and amenities and want a certain degree of flexibility, as tickets on this fare can be rebooked without a fee.*

Economy Flex
The flexible fare – because travel plans can change.
The "Flex" fare is aimed at passengers who need more flexibility when planning their trip. Tickets on this fare can be rebooked and even refunded for a fee.
Business Class
For a relaxed trip with the greatest degree of comfort.
Of course, the comprehensive comfort of our Business Class is also still available to you. Your adjacent seat is kept free, and you can enjoy plenty of Business Class benefits, from lounge access to two free items of baggage. As well as the fully flexible Business Flex fare, a restrictive Business Saver fare is also available on selected routes.

HON Circle Members, Senators, Frequent Travellers and Star Alliance Gold Members travelling on the "Light" fare are not entitled to an advance seat reservation or a free extra item of baggage or a golf bag (the latter benefit is reserved for SWISS Golf Travellers).

The new fare concept applies to short and medium-haul flights with destinations within the Europe fare route network. This also covers destinations in North Africa, including Marrakech, Casablanca, Algiers, Tunisia and Azerbaijan. When you book online you’ll see immediately if your destination is among the selection, as the available fares appear automatically when you enter your destination.
You can combine the Classic, Flex and Business fares within the Lufthansa Group and on so-called code-share flights with other airlines. (Exception: the fares cannot be combined with the 4U/EW BASIC fares and the Brussels Airlines Check&Go fares). Please note that advance seat reservations on flights not operated by Lufthansa, Lufthansa Regional or Austrian Airlines, in particular in Economy Class, are available only to a limited extent or not at all. Please contact the airline operating the flight directly.
You can earn award, status and select miles on all flights, and HON Circle miles in Business Class. With the Flex fare you can earn 50 per cent more award miles during a limited offer period. For HON Circle Members, Senators, Frequent Travellers and Star Alliance Gold Members, the "Light" fare does not include a free advance seat reservation, extra items of baggage or a golf bag free of charge. So on the “Light” fare a charge will be levied for a checked item of baggage regardless of the passenger’s status.
Upgrades to Business Class from all Economy fares are available for a fee up to one hour before departure. The upgrade to Business Class applies per flight segment and includes, subject to availability, various services such as an empty adjacent seat, lounge access, priority boarding and priority fast lane. In all cases with regard to rebooking, refunds and free baggage, the fare conditions of the originally booked Economy Class ticket still apply. Upgrades to Business Class are only available online at lufthansa.com or at selected airports for flights from Germany.
The Europe fares do not apply to connecting flights to and from an intercontinental connection with a through fare. In this case you are automatically flying in Economy Class on a fare that includes one piece of baggage up to 23 kg. For example, if you book a long-haul flight from New York to Stockholm via Frankfurt, you don’t have to worry about the fare conditions of the connecting flight within Europe.
If travelling on the Economy Flex or Business Class Flex fares, you can easily rebook to an earlier flight on the same day free of charge, even if the booking class you originally booked is not available. So long as a seat in the booked travel class is still available, you can rebook your flight on the day of departure at check-in (via lufthansa.com, the Lufthansa app, check-in machine or check-in counter at the airport). Please note that you cannot have any checked baggage or special services booked for your original flight.
Depending on the chosen fare, numerous additional services can be booked: The services on offer range from one item of baggage up to 23 kg and booking a standard seat or seat with extra legroom to an upgrade to Business Class. The charge for an item of baggage may increase depending on whether the service is booked online, at the ticket counter at the airport, or directly at the gate. A distinction is made between services that are booked per flight segment or for the entire journey. The fee for an advance seat reservation, a seat with extra legroom or for an upgrade to Business Class is calculated per flight segment. The charge for a checked item of baggage on the "Light" fare applies to both outbound and return flights.
