Travelling as Frequent Flyer

As a Frequent Flyer, you enjoy special privileges and services. We are sorry that we are not able to offer you this as much as you have come to expect from us. Please rest assured that we are doing everything we can to once again be able to offer you our regular level of service.
Until then, we have published answers to your most important questions on "Frequent Flyer travel" here.
Yes, you may continue to use the booking guarantee.
Of course you may still contact the familiar service hotlines. We kindly ask for your understanding that waiting times may be longer due to the current circumstances.
All customers whose status ends in February 2021 and who are therefore directly affected by the crisis will receive an extension of their status until February 2022. You may find further details at the Miles & More website:
We will furthermore expand the qualification/requalification period for the HON Circle status once from two to three years by crediting the amount of HON Circle miles you earned in 2019 once again to your account at the beginning of 2021. In addition, as in the past few months, we are continually assessing current developments and will inform you of any news as soon as possible.
Business Class check in is open at the airports in Frankfurt, Munich, Zurich, Geneva and Vienna.
Due to the lack of passengers, many airport fast lanes were temporarily closed. As soon as the numbers increase, fast lanes will be reopened. Please go to the airports' websites for further information. Fast lanes are currently available in Frankfurt, Geneva, Vienna and Zurich, however not yet in Munich. To what extent the Fast Lanes at other European or non-European airports may be used will be decided within the next few weeks.
Many countries have tightened hand luggage regulations in the context of the Corona crisis. The federal police currently only allows one trolley and one personal item (small laptop bag, ladies' handbag) to be taken through the security checkpoint. Business Class guests are welcome to check in their excess hand luggage free of charge at the check-in. Please use the Info Hub to find out about possible country-specific regulations.
A current overview of our open lounges including adjusted opening hours can be found here. Of course we want to potentially increase the availability of lounges and are continuously assessing further openings.
Lufthansa First Class Lounges will be temporarily closed from 18. November due to low occupancy. You can, of course, use the Senator or Business Class Lounges when they are open. HON Circle members can access the lounges without waiting by showing their HON Circle card and boarding pass. The SWISS First Lounges and the Austrian HON Circle Lounge are also not open at the moment.
The food and beverage offer has been adapted in line with government regulations. In Frankfurt an Munich you will receive a small care package for take-away. Please note that other facilities such as showers and rest rooms are not open.
Resuming the buffet service as in the past is not possible due to the current restrictions. Also due to these restrictions, approaches similar to e. g. restaurants would entail a further reduction of visitors as well as additional measures such as the registration of contact data and seat allocations.
Our limousine service is unfortunately not available at this time.
We have reintroduced priority boarding on continental flights for HON Circle Members, Senators, Business Class travelers and Star Gold customers. As a priority guest, you once again have the opportunity to board right after the pre-boarding, with the start of boarding groups 1 and 2.
To avoid large crowds, please do not come to the gate until these groups have been called. However, we advise and ask priority guests with an aisle seat to board with boarding group 5. This minimizes the need to stand up, thereby protecting you and the other passengers from close contact.
We therefore ask for your support to make the boarding process as pleasant and safe as possible. We ask all guests to keep their distance in the gate area as well as on the aircraft bridge during the boarding process. Floor markings help with orientation. For all guests, boarding is preferable via the Quick Boarding Gates, where available.
