Bring me Home – our return flight promise for all customers
No ifs, ands or buts: Our return flight promise applies to all our fares! In case of a travel warning or a significant deterioration of the Corona situation on site, we will take you back to Germany, Austria or Switzerland – if necessary, by special flight.1
With Bring me Home and the extension Bring me Home NOW, you can enjoy a reliable "all-inclusive carefree package" in the Classic, Saver and Flex tariffs. From practical information before your trip, to medical assistance on the road, to assumption of costs in the event of travel interruption – you benefit from access to a unique medical network worldwide and the many years of expertise of our insurance partner AXA Partners.

We not only take you home, with Bring me Home NOW we do it as quickly as possible. All customers who have an Economy Flex or Business Flex ticket will be booked free of charge on the next bookable Lufthansa Group flight and returned to Germany, Austria or Switzerland.2

Travel plans often change unexpectedly – especially in times of Corona. From rising infection rates at the holiday destination to emergency situations at home – traveling is currently associated with many uncertainties.
With the right promise, you can still plan your trip without worries. Lufthansa gives you such a promise. And together with AXA Partners, it offers you an additional service package in most fares that protects you and your fellow travellers before, during and after the journey. Vacation guarantee
- Applies in case of infection with the coronavirus, quarantine or lockdown and refusal of entry due to elevated body temperature (for other regulations for stopping travel, see below).
- Additional transport costs up to EUR 250.
- Rebooking fees up to EUR 50.
- The cost of the return flight ticket, provided that no Lufthansa Group flight is available, up to EUR 500.
- Accommodation costs due to quarantine or lockdown up to 14 nights and up to EUR 250 / night, as well as the costs of unused overnight stays or excursions and events.
- Trip Cancellation: assumption of return travel costs and other additional costs for interruption of travel due to accident, illness, death, damage or burglary, unexpected court summons or broken prostheses.
Medical repatriation
- Medical return transport to a hospital in the country of your residence, if medically necessary.
- Transfer of remains or burial on site in the event of death.
- Max. compensation payment EUR 100,000.
Medical assistance
- Telephone information - also before the trip - on vaccination, illnesses at the travel destination, first aid kit, medical precautions, medication, outpatient and inpatient treatment options.
Telemedical assistance
- Possibility for a medical consultation by phone
- Use of the well-known app "Doctor Please!”
- Available in English (24/7) and German (weekdays 8 a.m. to 9 p.m.)

We have received the feedback from many conversations with our customers, that there currently is a high degree of uncertainty in regards to vacation travel within Europe.
We are all looking forward to travel again after the long time of lock-down and restrictions!
With this new and so far unique “Bring me Home” offer, we want to help ensure that our guests can spend their summer vacation in Europe as carefree as possible.
Our “Bring me Home” promise applies for all journeys within Europe and bookings with a return flight date up to the end of January 2021. We offering not only flexible rebooking conditions but also a return guarantee on all our European routes for additional peace of mind for our customers. This promise applies regardless of the booked tariff or point of booking for all customers as a general promise.
Our customers can rest assured that in case of Corona related issues at their destination that the airlines of Lufthansa Group will return them home to Germany, Austria or Switzerland - in emergency cases even with a special flight.
In addition to that starting June 25th we have added further features to our tariffs to create even more flexibility and peace of mind for the return flight of our customers.
Insurance cover commences with the valid booking of a Classic or Flex Ticket for Lufthansa (for flights to and from Germany), Austrian Airlines (for flights to and from Austria) and SWISS (for flights to and from Switzerland), earliest 48 hours before the start of the journey. The cover of the insurance will end with conclusion of the journey or not later than 90 days after the beginning of the journey, as well as if the ticket is cancelled. All features of the “Bring me Home NOW” package apply only after arrival in the destination country.
We have created a unique carefree package for our Economy CLASSIC and Economy FLEX tariffs in cooperation with the AXA insurance company.
In case a passenger will not be admitted to enter her destination country due to a failed health check at the destination airport or when a quarantine stay will become necessary, the AXA insurance will cover the cost or even a medical repatriation.
In addition to this AXA is offering the possibility to access a personal medical consultation with a German speaking doctor on a video call.
In case of a necessary quarantine stay at the destination AXA will cover the additional hotel or transportation expenses. A truly carefree-offering for our customers!
For our FLEX tariffs we have included an additional feature: The “Bring me Home NOW” option offer our customers the opportunity to return back to their home country as soon as possible. Upon the customer’s request we will reserve a seat on the next available Lufthansa Group flight to Germany, Austria or Switzerland in case there are increasing personal or general impairments due to the Corona pandemic at the destination. This rebooking to an earlier flight is always free with the “Bring me Home NOW” package. There will be no rebooking fee or tariff difference charged.
No, we are not going to increase prices but we will add the described benefits to our tariffs at no additional costs. It is important to us to create peace of mind for our customers when it comes to bringing them home reliably and safely.
The additional benefits will become available from June 25th 2020 through 31st August 2020 for the home markets of the Lufthansa Group, Germany, Austria and Switzerland bookable on the websites of Lufthansa, SWISS and Austrian Airlines as well with selected partners.

The "Doctor Please!" offer is part of the AXA insurance benefits which you receive as part of the Bring me Home all-round carefree package.
1 In the event of a travel warning or a deterioration of the coronavirus situation in a European country, Lufthansa will react accordingly and, according to its internal assessment, offer you flexible rebooking options and review the use of additional capacities.
2 Booking guarantee: Up to 48 hours before departure you have a booking guarantee on scheduled flights operated by Lufthansa, Austrian Airlines or SWISS. These offers are only valid after arrival at the destination if a travel warning has been issued, the COVID-19 situation deteriorates considerably the customer feels uncomfortable due to the situation.
3 There is no insurance cover in areas for which the Federal Foreign Office (or the respective official agency of the country in which the insured person's place of residence is located) has officially issued a travel warning at the time of commencement of the journey. However, insurance cover will be provided, and service will be offered if an event that led to a travel warning occurs unexpectedly after the start of the trip. The insurance cover will expire at the end of the seventh day after the travel warning has been issued. Additional exclusions for certain insurance benefits can be found in the insurance information document as well as in the general and special insurance conditions.
4 If you wish, you will be transported on the next bookable Lufthansa Group flight and returned to Germany, Austria or Switzerland.
