Children love everything about flying! Which explains the great success enjoyed by Lufthansa’s first app for children under six: "Take off! The fun-packed journey for little passengers". Now older kids, too, can look forward to enjoying some special games: our new app, "Super JetFriends", guarantees lots of excitement for seven- to eleven-year-olds!

The free Lufthansa app, "Super JetFriends", not only provides great entertainment on journeys and in the holidays – it also invites children into the world of aviation during their leisure time. The app has been developed with the help and advice of children and is completely safe for children, with no advertising or in-app shopping. It also has a separate parents’ area with explanatory notes. The app is available free of charge for smartphones and tablets in German and English, it is suitable for iOS and Android devices, and can be downloaded from the App Store or from Google Play™.
The action-packed world of "Super JetFriends"
Here, together with Lu and Cosmo, kids can complete important tasks around the airport – in the form of exciting, educational games. They can build their own superplane, help the pilot navigate the aircraft, refuel waiting aircraft, test their knowledge and much more.
‘Take-off! The fun-packed journey for little passengers’
With "Take-off!", the free children’s app developed for smartphones and tablets which works on Apple and Android devices, Lufthansa has developed a medium that is both educational and exciting for children, as well as safe and simple to operate. Data protection is our top priority – particularly when it comes to children! We want you and your child to feel safe when using the "Super JetFriends" app. You can find out here what data is collected and how it is used.
What data is collected?
In the "SuperJetFriends" app, Deutsche Lufthansa AG uses the latest version of Google Analytics with the addition of "_gat._anonymizeIp". Google Analytics, a web analysis service of Google Incorporated, 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA (hereinafter: Google), collects and stores data using pseudonyms. This data is used to analyse usage behaviour in the app (e.g. which games are played most? Which levels have been reached? Where do players encounter difficulties?) and is evaluated exclusively for the improvement and needs-based design of the content. The information collected is sent to a Google server in the USA where it is stored. In this case, your IP address is shortened by Google within the member states of the European Union or in other states which are party to the Agreement on the European Economic Area and thereby anonymised. Only in exceptional circumstances will the complete IP address be transferred to a Google server in the USA and shortened there. Google may transfer this information to a third party insofar as it is prescribed by law, or third parties may process this data on behalf of Google. However, in no case will Google combine the IP address with personal data about the bearer of the pseudonym.
Moreover, information of a more general nature will be collected (e.g. type of device, software version, country and language settings). This data will also be evaluated anonymously.
If you do not agree to your data being collected and stored in anonymised form, you can easily deactivate this in the app’s parents’ area.
Within the app, Deutsche Lufthansa AG only requests information (nicknames, age, sex) which the user can provide voluntarily. This data is not required to use "Super JetFriends" to its full extent. Using Bluetooth Low Energy technology, this data is exchanged between the users of the app and a stele located at Frankfurt Airport. A stele is an iPhone application which only stores the data locally in the stele app and greets the user with their nickname on a connected screen. The data in the stele is deleted after 24 hours. NewAer SDK is used to transfer data via Bluetooth Low Energy. You can find data protection information on NewAer at http://newaer.com/privacy.
Personal information, i.e. information disclosing identity (such as full name, address, telephone number or email address) is not requested or stored in this app.
