Current flight information
For Monday, March 27, the trade union ver.di has called for a one-day strike at several German airports - this will stop flight operations at Lufthansa.
For Munich Airport, these restrictions will additionally already apply on Sunday, March 26.
Please leave your contact details in your Miles & More profile or in My bookings, so we can inform you immediately about changes for your trip.
We strongly advise you not to travel to the airports during the affected times. Unfortunately, we will not be able to offer you any short-term solutions there. As massive strikes in the public transport areas and at Deutsche Bahn are also to be expected on Monday, there is a risk that you will not be able to leave the airport again.
Due to the large number of cancellations and reduced rebooking options, we will not be able to offer solutions for all passengers. Please inform yourself constantly on this page or on our service page for flight irregularities.
If you have planned a domestic flight, we ask you to travel by train on Tuesday. You can find out how to exchange your flight ticket for a train ticket free of charge in the chapter "Substitute transport by train".
In the event of a cancellation, Lufthansa will rebook you free of charge and usually automatically to another flight and inform you via your mobile phone number. If you do not receive a message from Lufthansa, please check the current status of your booking. Here you can also adjust the rebooking if required. Alternatively, you can also use the Lufthansa Chatbot.
If you have booked through a tour operator or travel agency, you may also contact the tour operator / travel agency where the booking was made.
In the event of a cancellation of a domestic Lufthansa flight you can exchange your flight ticket into a ticket with Deutsche Bahn free of charge. We recommend that you make a reservation for this on the Deutsche Bahn website. Please note that the ticket is only valid on Deutsche Bahn trains on the day of issue and the following day.
If you have a connecting flight from Frankfurt or Munich, we recommend that you allow sufficient time for changing from train to flight when planning your rail journey to the airports.
If you are rebooked onto the following day, please check our information about hotel accommodation.
