Current flight information
Regular flight operations at Munich Airport are still not possible after the snowfall at the weekend and in addition, flight operations at other airports in Germany are also restricted due to the weather.
Handling capacities are massively restricted, for example due to frozen airport equipment or snow-covered vehicles.
Unfortunately, not all flights can take off and land as planned. Flight cancellations and delays in Munich and also other airports may occur in the coming days. Also, waiting times on our service hotline are currently longer than usual. We apologize for not being able to provide the service you should expect from us.
If you have a flight ticket with a flight to and/or from Munich or via Munich between 4 and 9 December, you can cancel your trip free of charge.
Please be sure to check the status of your flight on Lufthansa.com or in the app before you arrive at the airport. We still only recommend travelling to the airport if you have a confirmed flight.
Please check the current status of your flight before heading to the airport.
Please enter your contact details at “My booking” or create your personal Travel ID. This is the only way to ensure that we can contact you during your trip if necessary.
In the event of a cancellation, Lufthansa will rebook you free of charge and usually automatically to another flight and inform you via your mobile phone number. As there are currently very few alternatives for travelling from Munich, your rebooking will be delayed. If you do not receive a message from Lufthansa, please check the current status of your booking. Here you can also adjust the rebooking if required. Alternatively, you can also use the Lufthansa Chatbot.
In the event of a cancellation of a domestic Lufthansa flight (or a Lufthansa flight between Germany and Basel within two days before departure, you can exchange your flight ticket into a ticket with Deutsche Bahn free of charge. We recommend that you make a reservation for this on the Deutsche Bahn website. Please note that the ticket is only valid on Deutsche Bahn trains on the day of issue and the following day.
If you have a connecting flight from Frankfurt, we recommend that you allow sufficient time for changing from train to flight when planning your rail journey to the airports.
If you have booked through a tour operator or travel agency, you may also contact the tour operator / travel agency where the booking was made.
If you are rebooked onto the following day, please check our information about hotel accommodation.

Currently, fraudulent fake pages with purported Lufthansa contacts can be found on the Internet using the standard search engines. These aim to access the (personal) details of our customers. Please only use channels listed on lufthansa.com for making contact and enter your details only on lufthansa.com. Always access the website manually by typing in your browser’s address bar, and do not follow any link that has not been made available by Lufthansa.
