Before your flight

Please check and observe the current entry regulations for your destination country as well as the regulations at the airports. Make sure your Covid-19-related entry documents are complete, e.g. proof of the Covid-19 test result or Digital Entry Application (DEA).

Please observe the current entry and quarantine regulations when entering or returning to Germany. Make sure your proof of the Covid-19 test result is personalised and state the test method and date of the test. The result must also be validated by a physician or laboratory.

We recommend that you always check in via our digital and mobile services via website or via the Lufthansa app and that you always keep your contact details up to date.

Please protect yourself and your fellow passengers: Start your journey only if you feel healthy. At Check-in, please confirm that you have not had contact with a Covid-19 case in the last 14 days, are not waiting for a pending test result and have not tested positive yourself.

In the current situation, individual authorities and airports have restricted the carrying of hand luggage. This is intended to reduce the waiting time at the security checkpoint and speed up the boarding and deboarding process.

On all flights to and from Germany, wearing a medical protective mask is mandatory since 01.02.2021 during boarding, on board and when leaving the aircraft. Only the following masks will be permitted: FFP2, KN95 and N95 standard or surgical masks. On long haul flights, we recommend you to bring several masks. Optionally, bring hand disinfectant with you. And if you do, please be sure to observe the regulations for carrying liquids.

Keep in mind that many shops and restaurants at the airports may still be closed.

Use the hand sanitizers that are available.

We strongly recommend to check in for your flight via our digital and mobile services on our website or within the Lufthansa app.

Check your bags with our contactless self-service kiosks.

Boarding and once on board

Wait until your boarding group is called and board, keeping a minimum distance of 1.5 metres to other passengers. Please use our automatic boarding gates.

The frequency and intensity of cabin cleanings was further increased. This applies in particular to the fold-out tables, the armrests, the safety belts, washrooms and door handles.

Upon boarding we will provide you with disinfectant wipes. Please only use the disinfectant wipes provided by us for cleaning the surfaces in and around your seat.

Wearing a medical protective mask is obligatory during your stay on board. Visors (face shields), masks with valves, scarves and shawls or masks made of fabric are not permitted on board.

If you do not wear a mask and do not meet the requirements of this exemption, we must exclude you from transportation.

For health reasons, an exemption from the mask requirement may be made. An exception is only accepted with a current (not older than 48 hours) negative PCR test result in addition to a medical certificate on the Lufthansa Group form. Please inform us before boarding.

Our air filter supplies a complete exchange of fresh air approximately every three minutes. The resulting excellent air quality, in combination with a face mask, offers so much protection that it is not essential to maintain minimum distances to passengers in neighboring seats.

In order to minimize contact between people on board, our current in-flight service has been adapted and simplified.
