• Bookings for dogs to the USA will only be accepted for the airports in Washington DC, New York-JFK, Newark, Atlanta, Miami, Los Angeles and Philadelphia.
  
• Bookings must be made at least 72 hours before departure. 
• Available exclusively on flights operated by Lufthansa
• Maximum dimensions of the travel carrier: max. 118 cm total size (55 x 40 x 23 cm)
• Maximum weight: 8 kg (including the travel carrier)
• The travel carrier must be softly padded as well as leak-proof, odour-proof and large enough for the animal to be able to stand in its natural position, as well as lie down and turn without any restriction.
• Your pet is clean, healthy and doesn’t bother any passengers. It is neither dangerous nor pregnant and also doesn’t smell.
• Lufthansa Express Bus: carriage at your own risk, no reservation required
• Lufthansa Express Rail: carriage at your own risk, no reservation required
• You are obliged to present the required health, entry and transfer documents at the airport.
• The minimum age of the animal from/to Germany is 15 weeks, in all other countries 12 weeks.
• Since 1.8.2024, dogs must be a minimum of six months old to be accepted for travel to the USA.
• For check-in, please present the following form for the carriage of a dog/cat as additional carry-on baggage in the passenger cabin:

Please note that the form is not required for assistance dogs on direct flights to/from the USA.
