Cancellations and refunds

Travel plans can often change unexpectedly. We support you with our services so that you can still reach your destination. With the online refund Lufthansa flight bookings* can be cancelled and refunded online up to 24 hours before the start of your journey. A refund and/or cancellation of the purchased ticket is dependent on the type of ticket purchased.

  • Clicking on My Bookings takes you directly from the Lufthansa homepage to the login page of your booking summary.
  • To log in, enter your last name and your booking code. The cancellable booking will be displayed. If you are already logged in, the refundable bookings will have a ‘Cancellation’ button next to them in your booking overview.
  • Click on the ‘Cancellation’ button next to the booking that you wish to cancel and confirm your choice on the following page.
  • You will now automatically receive a confirmation e-mail, your flight booking will be cancelled and the amount to be refunded will be transferred or credited to your credit card.

Flights which have not been purchased through a Lufthansa office or via may also be cancelled online. However, to obtain a refund of the ticket price please contact the travel agency that issued the ticket.

Refund of tickets as a result of flight disruptions

If your flight has been cancelled by Lufthansa as a result of disruptions (e.g. bad weather), you can have your airline ticket refunded free of charge via My Bookings.

Please contact the Lufthansa Service Center if you are unable to cancel your ticket or obtain a refund online.
