The Lufthansa Terminal at Dusseldorf Airport
At the Lufthansa Terminal in Dusseldorf you can expect not only Lufthansa’s usual high standards of comfort, but also excellent connections to around 50 destinations in Germany and Europe and to four intercontinental destinations (New York Newark, Chicago and, seasonally, Toronto or Miami too). The ‘Airport for North Rhine Westphalia’ is Lufthansa’s most important local base in Germany. In no other Lufthansa hub can you experience shorter transfer times for intercontinental flights: in Dusseldorf you can make your connecting flight in just 35 minutes. And with the airport’s own ICE main-line station and direct connections via the local bus and train services (VRR), you can enjoy a relaxed journey to Dusseldorf Airport on public transport.
Services at Dusseldorf Airport
Take off faster
Thanks to fast check-in at our check-in machines and the number of entry points available at our security control, you will reach your departure gate in no time at all.
Centrally located passport controls speed up your departure. Or you can register your passport data yourself at selected check-in machines, easily and conveniently.
At Dusseldorf both you and your baggage have only short distances to and from flights: after landing and, if necessary, going through passport control you will receive your baggage safely in next to no time.
The presence of Lufthansa and our Star Alliance partners under one roof ensures a tight route network with optimized connections. As a result you have shorter distances to the aircraft and changing flights is particularly fast and pleasant.
Please note: the airport’s transit area is closed between 21.00 hours and 06.00 hours. If you have an onward flight on the following day, you will require a limited residence permit for Germany (e.g. a Schengen visa).
Shop and enjoy
Take advantage of the variety of shops, services, restaurants, bars and cafes throughout the whole terminal. You will find a detailed overview of all the facilities on offer in the terminal plan (see above).
At Dusseldorf International Airport you can experience the comings and goings at the airport live, from either the terminal building or the station. From the observation terrace at the station you get an impressive view of the airport grounds, including the take-off and landing runways. From the observation deck on the roof of Concourse B, you can watch the air traffic on the apron as well as the aircraft preparing for take-off.
The viewing platform can be reached from Level 3 of the terminal. The SkyTrain connects the station directly to the terminal. The SkyTrain ticket also acts as your entry ticket to the observation terrace.
