Location
The airport is situated 6km (3.5 miles) northeast of Bologna.
How to get there
From the Bologna bypass (tangenziale), passengers should take exit 4 and follow signs to the airport. From the A14, they should take the Bologna-San Lazzaro exit; once on the bypass road, they should then take exit 4 for the airport. From the A13, passengers should take the Bologna-Arcoveggio exit; then, once on the bypass road, they should take exit 4 for the airport. From the A1, passengers should take the Bologna-Casalecchio exit; then, once on the bypass, they should take exit 4 for the airport.

Access by public transport
Bus:
The Aerobus (tel: (051) 290 290) departs every 15 minutes from outside Arrivals (Terminals A and B) and runs to Bologna central railway station and the city centre (journey time - 20 minutes). Tickets can be bought on the bus. There are also bus services to/from Modena Airport and Modena city centre (journey time - 60 minutes) and to/from Siena (journey time - 2 hours 30 minutes).
Taxi:
Taxi services are available outside Arrivals at both terminals. Companies include Cat (tel: (051) 534 141) and Cotabo (tel: (051) 372 727).
Information desk
There are two information desks located in the Departures area of Terminals A and B. In addition, there is a flight information board in Terminal A Departures and 96 screens, providing flight information, located throughout the airport. A telephone information service (tel: (051) 647 9615) is also available. A tourist information counter is located in Arrivals in Terminal A; staff can provide information on hotels, restaurants, events and city attractions.
Airport News:
Terminal 2, which previously served domestic passengers and was set for demolition following transfer of these services to Terminal 1, is now to be redeveloped for the use of low cost airlines.Ben Gurion also opened a nearly 2-mile long runway at the end of October 2007. Officials said it would accommodate the new Airbus A380.
