Boarding pass checks on entry to all Lufthansa lounges worldwide

Man enters loungeFrom 1 October 2009 Lufthansa is introducing boarding pass checks on entry to its lounges worldwide. Boarding passes as well as Miles & More cards will then be checked on entry to Business, Senator and First Class Lounges.

In future, therefore, Senators and HON Circle Members will only have access to the respective Lufthansa lounges appropriate to their status if they have a boarding pass valid for the airport and day of departure on a Lufthansa, Lufthansa airline partner or Star Alliance flight.

By introducing this measure, Lufthansa is ensuring that guests with right of access to the lounge can enjoy the greatest possible comfort on the day they travel. Lufthansa is also creating a lounge access policy which is transparent and consistent for all customers and which continues the harmonization of entry rules in regard to partner and Star Alliance lounges.

We therefore kindly request that, from 1 October 2009, all Senators and HON Circle Members have their customer card and a valid boarding pass to hand when they enter Senator and First Class Lounges.

Reopening of the Lufthansa Business Lounge in Pier B at Frankfurt Airport

From the end of September 2009 Business Class passengers and Frequent Travellers at Frankfurt will be able to experience the benefits of the modernised Lufthansa Business Lounge at Gate B24. Following extensive refurbishment work, the extended lounge now looks splendid in the latest Lufthansa design, as well as providing more than 400 seats – twice the previous number.

In this 1,400 square metre area Lufthansa has created a welcoming and spacious environment: guests can regain their energy in the quiet room and on elegant loungers with built-in massage function, or they can freshen up in the shower area with its high-quality fixtures and fittings. There is also a comfortable area with cosy chairs and TVs and a bistro serving snacks and drinks.

Specially equipped work areas ensure a relaxed atmosphere so that guests can take care of business matters in peace and quiet. Lufthansa moves into London Heathrow Terminal 1

London Heathrow Terminal 1Lufthansa is now to be found in the redesigned Terminal 1 at London Heathrow Airport. This move means noticeably shorter routes to the aircraft and considerably shorter transfer times for you too. Terminal 1 also enjoys direct access to public transport, so for Lufthansa passengers the journey from, to or via London Heathrow will be even quicker and more convenient.

In the newly designed Star Alliance check-in area in Zone K, 17 check-in counters, 12 check-in machines and six baggage drop-off counters facilitate a prompt check-in. Passengers can then proceed directly to a security checkpoint which is reserved for Lufthansa passengers and those of selected partner airlines.

With the Star Alliance First and Business Class Lounges, as well as a new bmi International Lounge opening in June, Terminal 1 offers Star Alliance customers an excellent choice of lounges. You can enjoy comfort and convenience in elegant surroundings until shortly before your departure.

Terminal 1 is also the new home for many of Lufthansa’s Star Alliance partners. Austrian Airlines, Croatia Airlines and TAP Portugal moved with Lufthansa in June. Once all the moves are completed, the 22 Star Alliance member carriers serving Heathrow will be divided almost equally between Terminals 1 and 3, Heathrow’s new core central area. The central area is the only part of Heathrow Airport with direct access to the Heathrow Express, the Heathrow Connect train service, all underground trains to central London and all local and regional bus services.
