Lufthansa is now located at Heathrow Terminal 1

On 16 June 2009 Lufthansa moved its operations from Terminal 2 at London Heathrow to Terminal 1. Terminal 2 is to close for major refurbishment later this year. Terminal 1 is a much brighter, more spacious environment with world-class shopping and restaurant facilities. Lufthansa check-in will be in the newly refurbished Zone K. This check-in area is designed to be more efficient and less congested which helps travellers to reach their gates faster. Customers will also enjoy shorter walking distances from kerbside to the Lufthansa check-in Zone K and on to the improved departure gate area. 17 check-in desks, 6 bag drops and 12 Lufthansa check-in machines in Zone K all serve to help speed the overall check-in process.

For First Class customers*, HON Circle Members, Senators and Star Gold Card holders, there is an exclusive First Class lobby at one end of Zone K. As well as four First Class check in counters, a furnished waiting area is available and the lobby provides direct access to the Priority Lane at the security control. Frequent Travellers, Star Silver Card holders and Business Class customers will also be able to use this Priority Lane via another route around the outside of the First Class lobby.

New data collection procedure for USA

From 12 January 2009 it is mandatory to register online for travel to the USA: if you want to enter the USA without a visa under the "Visa Waiver Program", you must register online through the "Electronic System for Travel Authorization" - known as "ESTA" for short. You should register at least 72 hours before departure in order to receive permission from the authorities in good time. Lufthansa recommends that you take a print out of this permission with you on your journey.

You will find detailed information about the new data collection procedure for USA here
