Two Star Chefs for the price of one
In January and February 2012, twins Thomas and Mathias Sühring will be responsible for the Star Chef menus in our premium classes on long-haul flights from Germany.
The brothers, who were born in Berlin in 1977, are chefs at ‘Mezzaluna’, one of Bangkok’s top restaurants . Through the new concept of twin chefs, the restaurant surprises its guests with a sophisticated blend of Mediterranean and Asian cuisine and is a revelation even for jaded palates.
Thomas Sühring served his chef’s apprenticeship at the Hilton Hotel in Berlin and subsequent jobs included working for Executive Chef Heinz Beck at La Pergola Restaurant in Rome. His brother Mathias trained at Berlin’s Maritim proArte Hotel and later worked for Dutch chef Jonnie Boer at his restaurant in Zwolle — to mention just a few of the places where the brothers learned their craft. The twins perfected their culinary skills together working for Sven Elverfeld at the Ritz-Carlton in Wolfsburg.
The almost identical Star Chefs have won several awards and their admirers are not solely confined to the gourmet scene in Bangkok. At the start of the new year our passengers can discover the twins’ culinary expertise for themselves.
