Lufthansa is terminating its flights to and from Ufa as of 1st of July 2009
Effective 1st of July 2009, Lufthansa will cancel its service to and from Ufa. All passengers holding a ticket for a Lufthansa flight to or from Ufa issued prior to 15th May 2009 for flights after 1st of July 2009 are offered the following alternatives:
free of charge rebooking of the ticket for a flight from/to Frankfurt to/from Moscow (DME) on Lufthansa with a connecting flight on Siberia Airlines to/from Ufa cancellation of the reservation and refund of the ticket price.
For the above alternatives passenger are kindly asked to contact their local Lufthansa call center or the ticket issuing carrier respectively.
Lufthansa lowers fuel surcharge for its flights
As crude oil and kerosene prices have decreased, Lufthansa will reduce its fuel surcharge on its flights. The fuel surcharge on domestic German and intra-European routes will lower by 3 euros to 21 euros per flight segment. On long-haul routes the corresponding fuel surcharge will be decreased by 10 euros to 82 euros per flight segment. The reduction
will apply to all Lufthansa tickets issued on or after 16th of December 2008.
Lufthansa continually monitors oil prices and will make any future adjustments to the fuel surcharge dependent on further trends in the price of jet fuel.
New hand luggage regulations in Russia
The new security provision of liquids taken on board was introduced on the 27th of August in Russia.

New safety measures for hand luggage on all departures from or transfers via EU member states
From 6 November 2006, restrictions have been introduced regarding taking liquids into the cabin on all flights originating in or flying via the EU. This includes all German domestic flights.
