The airport is located just off Autobahn (motorway) A8 Karlsruhe-Munich. Take the exit Stuttgart-Flughafen (no.53), or Bundesstrasse B27, and follow the signs for either Arrivals (Ankunft) or Departures (Abflug). See the airports website for detailed maps.

Access by public transport
The airport is connected to central Stuttgart by commuter trains S2 (Schorndorf) and S3 (Backnang) (tel: (711) 66060; www.vvs.de), which both serve Stuttgart central station (journey time: 30 minutes). Stuttgart central station is served by S-Bahn trains for destinations throughout Stuttgart, and high-speed intercity, express and regional trains to destinations throughout Germany and beyond (tel: (01805) 996 633; www.bahn.de). The S-Bahn station is in Terminal 1 level 1.
There are several direct bus links (tel: (711) 66060; www.vvs.de) to destinations in and around Stuttgart, departing from outside Terminal 1 Arrivals level. Journey time to the city centre is around 25 minutes. The single fare is €3.40.
There is a 24-hour taxi service to Stuttgart (journey time: 20 minutes); the taxi rank is situated in front of Terminal 1 level 3 (Departures). Taxis can be pre-booked on (0711) 551 0000 and (711) 19416.
There is a central information and help desk (tel: (711) 22280) in Terminal 3, on Level 2 (Arrivals) with multi-lingual staff. All terminals have information pillars including courtesy telephones for passenger information.
