Since it launched flight operations on 31 March 1958, the company has expanded its role as a specialist carrier for flights to Eastern Europe. One of the company’s strengths is its comprehensive route network consisting of 120 destinations, which extends to Central and Eastern Europe as well as to the Middle East.

Austrian Airlines

The Austrian Airlines Group (AUA) includes the three partners Austrian, Lauda Air and Austrian arrows (operated by Tyrolean). Austrian’s core business is scheduled traffic, while Austrian arrows specialises in regional traffic and Lauda Air rounds off the group’s portfolio in the leisure travel segment.

The AUA Group’s home base and hub is Vienna International Airport. With a minimum connecting time of 25 minutes, it is a very attractive airport for passengers. From Vienna, Austrian Airlines operates an extensive network that offers countless onward connections.

The AUA fleet currently comprises 91 airplanes. The average age of its aircraft is below the European mean.

Austrian Airlines has been a member of Star Alliance since March 2000.
