Lufthansa AIRail routes affected by Deutsche Bahn train drivers' strike - 05 May until 10 May 2015
Due to the announced Deutsche Bahn strike during the period from 05 May until 09 May 2015, the Lufthansa AIRail connections Karlsruhe-Frankfurt vv., Kassel-Frankfurt vv., Dusseldorf-Frankfurt vv., Cologne-Frankfurt vv., as well as Stuttgart-Frankfurt vv. will be affected.
Deutsche Bahn intends to re-establish regular railway operations on 10 May.
Lufthansa will do its utmost to rebook all affected passengers to alternative connections.

TAP announces Pilot's strike from 1.5. - 10.5.2015
Due to the strike announcement by pilots of TAP Airlines during the period from 01. May until and including 10. May, delays and possible cancellations are to be expected to/from Portugal. All flights operated by Lufthansa will are planned to depart as scheduled.
If you are holding tickets between 01. and 10 May 2015 from / to Portugal of Lufthansa / SWISS / Austrian Airlines or Brussels Airlines, you may rebook once free online under My bookings. The following conditions need to be observed:
- The booked flight is operated by TAP
- Tickets must be issued on/before 17.04.2015
- New date of travel must be on/before 17.06.2015
- Change of origin/destination and class of service/compartment are not permitted
- For all other ticket conditions, original fare conditions apply

New EU requirement concerning passport validity for non-EU citizens
Since 19 July 2013 non-EU citizens entering the Schengen Area must carry a passport with them which will be valid for at least three months after the date they leave the Schengen Area. This applies to entry to the Schengen area by non-EU citizens, with the exception of citizens from Andorra, Monaco, San Marino, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway and Switzerland.
For flights to the USA additional personal information must be provided under the Secure Flight Program of the US Transportation Security Administration (TSA). This regulation also applies to overflights of US territory, i.e. flights from/to, for example, Canada, Mexico and other Central-American countries, which are scheduled to fly into US airspace.
Regulations for visa-free entry to the USA
For travel in the USA it is mandatory to register online. In addition airlines are required to carry out ESTA checks: the transport of passengers wishing to enter the USA without a visa under the Visa Waiver Program will be prohibited if passengers have not received an electronic entry permit in advance from the US authorities. Online registration is through the Electronic System for Travel Authorization - known as "ESTA" for short. Please note that without a visa or ESTA registration you will no longer be able to board your flight to the USA.
