How to get there
The airport is situated between ring roads R2 and R3 on the B433, and is easily accessible and well signposted from central Hamburg. The A7 Autobahn provides a connection to the airport at exit 23, Schnelsen-Nord.

Access by public transport
A new S-Bahn rail link (tel: (040) 3918 3904; www.s-bahn-hamburg.de) between the airport and the city centre is due to enter service in December 2008, journey time will be around 25 minutes.
Many HVV bus services (tel: (040) 19449; www.hvv.de) run to the city centre and other points around Hamburg, and the night bus 606 stops at the main railway station. Until December 2008, the 101 Airport Express runs bus services from Terminals 1 and 4 to the nearby Ohlsdorf U-Bahn/S-Bahn station for connections to the S-Bahn S1 and S11 and U-Bahn U1 to the main railway station and the city centre (Jungfernsteig).
Taxi services (www.Hamburger-Taxi.info) to central Hamburg are readily available outside the terminals. A door-to-door shuttle service is offered by TravelPorter (tel: (040) 3179 4453; www.travelporter.de) to destinations within Hamburg and further afield.
