An etix® can be booked conveniently and flexibly up to four hours before the check-in deadline for your flight. There is no need for you to worry about having the ticket delivered - it is already waiting for you, electronically stored in our database.
This is how you book via www.lufthansa.com
When checking in you can identify yourself with your booking code and name. You also have the option of using your Lufthansa Miles & More card, a credit card or, if you paid by electronic direct debit, your EC/Maestro card as a means of identification.
Your ticket will be issued automatically as an etix®.
You can use the following payment methods to pay for an etix®.
Booking via the Lufthansa Service Center or travel agency
When booking via the Lufthansa Service Center or at your travel agency it is best to state one of the following cards for identification:
- Lufthansa Miles & More card
- Frequent flyer card of one of the other Star Alliance members: Air Canada, All Nippon Airways, Air New Zealand, SAS Scandinavian Airlines, Singapore Airlines, Thai Airways International, United Airlines
- Credit card
When quoting a Miles & More or Star Alliance frequent flyer card you will automatically collect miles. Should you, at the time of your booking, have none of the mentioned card on you you can have your miles credited afterwards: During check-in or even after the flight, online at the Miles & More site .
Should you have none of the mentioned cards the etix® ticket can be issued regardless. Please beware though that in this case you may only check in at the Check-in machines or at the Check-in counter.
Please note that a Ticket Service Charge will be levied on flight bookings. The level of charge is based on the destination, i.e. for continental flights (Europe including Germany) there is a charge of €10 for a booking made online at lufthansa.com, whilst a €15 charge is made for intercontinental flights. The Ticket Service Charge is reduced by €20 - €30 for online bookings compared with bookings made by telephone or at a ticket counter. The level of the Ticket Service Charge can also vary depending on the market or point of sale. The amounts stated here only apply to ticket sales in Germany.
Booking confirmation
Instead of a paper ticket you will receive either a receipt when you buy the ticket (via fax, e-mail, etc) or at Check-in, containing your current travel data, the price of the flight, taxes and fees. It also states the reservation and ticket number.
Please carry the receipt without during your entire journey.
