Terms of Use for the Lufthansa.com Voucher

The Lufthansa Lufthansa.com voucher (referred to below as Lufthansa.com voucher) is an offer of Deutsche Lufthansa Aktiengesellschaft, Venloer Straße 151-153, 50672 Cologne, Germany (referred to below as "Lufthansa"). The Lufthansa.com voucher is a voucher offered in conjunction with applicable law in the event of disservices.

Those who take advantage of this offer (referred to below as Users) have the option of using the amount of the voucher to book a scheduled Lufthansa service at a later date, as well as selected additional services on lufthansa.com.

These Terms of Use apply to the use of the Lufthansa.com voucher. In addition to the Terms of Use,

The Lufthansa.com voucher will be provided in the form of a redemption code via email.

The redemption of the Lufthansa.com voucher is possible only online at www.lufthansa.com.

The Lufthansa.com voucher can only be used for bookings that are settled in the same currency as the voucher. A voucher issued in USD ($) can therefore only be used for bookings that are also settled in USD ($).

The Lufthansa Lufthansa.com voucher can only be used for bookings of flights which are operated by Lufthansa and have a Lufthansa flight number (e.g. LH123). The Lufthansa.com voucher cannot be used for flights within Germany.

A conversion into other currencies is not possible. It cannot be used on tickets already purchased. Up to three vouchers can be used for one booking. Unless indicated otherwise on the voucher, the Lufthansa.com voucher is valid from the moment it is issued until the end of the issuing year and an additional three years further (e.g. date of issue 21 October 2025, valid until 31 December 2028).

When paying for the booking, select the "voucher" payment function and follow the instructions. Up to three vouchers can be redeemed for one booking.

If the amount of the Lufthansa.com voucher is not sufficient for the purchase of a new flight in full, the difference can be credited by credit card (Visa, Mastercard or American Express) during the redemption process.

If the voucher value exceeds the purchase price of the ticket, the remaining value of the voucher can be used for further purchases as part of the validity of the Lufthansa.com voucher.

The Lufthansa.com voucher may not be sold or transferred. The Lufthansa.com voucher is not linked to a name. The owner of the Lufthansa.com voucher must not, therefore, be the passenger named on the ticket being bought.

By redeeming the Lufthansa.com voucher and purchasing a ticket, a contract of carriage is created between the Lufthansa.com voucher holder and Lufthansa.

Flight bookings and redeeming Lufthansa.com vouchers once the Lufthansa.com voucher is used, its validity expires for the amount used. If tickets paid for with a Lufthansa.com voucher are cancelled in accordance with the statutory or fare conditions and a refund is applied for, the refund value is re-transferred to the Lufthansa.com voucher.

Lufthansa.com vouchers are non-refundable. The provisions of section 4 remain unaffected.

Lufthansa's liability to users for compensation is excluded, providing the claim is based on minor negligence. This does not apply if, in breach of an obligation, which the contract must provide for in accordance with its meaning and purpose or fulfilment thereof allows proper execution of the contract and compliance thereof upon which users may generally rely. If Lufthansa is fundamentally liable, the claim for compensation shall be limited to the typical contractual and foreseeable damages (value of the established service).

The limitations of liability do not apply in the event of injury to life, limb or health, in the case of gross negligence or willful intent by employees, vicarious agents or legal representatives of Lufthansa, as well as in the case of legally stipulated liability irrespective of fault or any guarantees undertaken.

Users are aware that unrestricted availability of the website www.lufthansa.com is not technically feasible with the relevant services from Lufthansa does not assume any guarantee in this respect. However, Lufthansa shall endeavor to make www.lufthansa.com constantly available as far as possible, and at least 90% of the time.

In particular, maintenance, security or capacity work on the website as well as events beyond Lufthansa's control (such as disruptions of public communication networks, power failures, etc.) may lead to short-term disruptions or temporary discontinuation of services. Lufthansa shall only undertake maintenance, security or capacity works on the website as required and as far as possible at times of low demand.

Lufthansa does not guarantee that third-party services, in particular network services or other services provided by third parties, will always be free from disruption, free from faults or reliably available.

Lufthansa is entitled to change these conditions of participation with immediate effect for the future. Users will be informed of this. Lufthansa only has this right if the change is reasonable for users, taking into account Lufthansa's interests.

German law (excluding the UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods and international private law) shall govern these Terms of use for the Lufthansa.com voucher and all legal relationships between users and Lufthansa, unless another national law is mandatorily applicable.
