How does the Lufthansa flight auction work?
The auction takes place on 10 December 2009 from 09:00 am to 3:25 pm. A new auction will start every five minutes. Every auction lasts 30 minutes. The last auction starts at 2:55 pm.
To participate in the auction, simply log in with your Miles & More number and PIN, or with your user name and password. You can then place your bid on the desired flight in predefined incremental bids:
- For European destinations from Germany €5 to €50 in Economy Class, or €10 to €100 in Business Class.
- For long-haul destinations from Germany those incremental bids are from €10 to €100 in Economy Class, and €30 to €300 in Business Class.
BUT: You cannot enter a maximum bid. So always keep an eye on your desired flight - your personal bid overview under “My Bids” will tell you immediately whether you have won the auction for your dream flight.
Going, going, gone: If you win the auction, the Lufthansa Service Center will phone you and take your booking right away.
The best part: You will be able to choose any desired date during between 25 December 2009 and 30 April 2010.
You will have to pay for your flight immediately after booking by credit card (or electronic direct debit for customers with a German bank account).
Ticket Conditions
The flight auction is subject to a travel period from 25 December 2009 to 30 April 2010. If specified, a shuttle service within Germany is included in the bid. If available, you can make changes to your reservation in booking classes V and Z even after the ticket has been issued against a fee of €50. Please note that the booking guarantee will expire if changes are made to a booking. In addition, the flights cannot be cancelled after the tickets have been issued. Miles & More members will earn mileage credit on the flights won at auction in booking classes V and Z. Other conditions pertaining to the individual flights can be viewed under “Conditions” in the respective auction room.
