The salt of the earth - Marc Fosh
Marc Fosh, the British star-winning chef who is extremely successful in Majorca with his exceptional recipes, will be the Star Chef on long-haul flights from Germany in November and December 2010.
Marc Fosh started his restaurant career in London at the age of 16. After working in top restaurants in England and France, he went to the Basque country where he learned and came to love the Spanish art of cooking. In 2002 he became the first and only British chef to have been awarded a Michelin star in Spain. This he has successfully defended – since 2009 in his own restaurant, “Simply Fosh” on Majorca.
There he cooks for local people and visitors with his exceedingly good dishes. It is the food, often elaborately prepared, that people rave about: the pair of inconspicuous little grains of salt hardly attract any notice, yet they have an astonishing effect. His “Sal de Flor” chocolate truffles especially are a real treat for the taste buds of a very unusual kind. He gives many of his dishes a final touch in the form of an exquisite salt. As he says, “It is just a small thing, but it changes so much!”
During the two months that Marc Fosh is responsible for the menus, two little salt containers will be laid out on the Business Class tray as a giveaway. Naturally they will be filled with the high-grade salts that Marc Fosh uses himself. So there will be no bounds on experimental flavours in your own kitchen! The two types of salt are pictured on the Business Class menu card cover – branded in the typical Marc Fosh way.
