Star Chef Roland Schmid takes to the air
Holder of 17 Gault Millau points, Swiss chef Roland Schmid will delight our First and Business Class passengers with his sophisticated dishes in July and August.
On completing his chef’s training, Schmid gained valuable experience working for some of the best chefs in the culinary world — including Germany’s top chef Harald Wohlfahrt, holder of 3 Michelin stars.
Since then the 48 year old Schmid has firmly established himself as head chef of the gourmet restaurant ‘Äbtestube’ at the Grand Resort hotel Bad Ragaz in Switzerland. He is constantly developing new culinary formulas to tempt his customers’ taste buds. According to Schmid, he gives preference to high-quality regional produce and to prime meat from animals reared humanely in preparing his exclusive dishes — and he recently won the title of ‘Swiss Chef of the Year 2011’.
Our Business Class passengers can expect something special for their second meal: a Swiss ‘Jause’ or snack in the form of a little rucksack filled with traditional Swiss produce such as fresh fruit, meat balls with mustard, a thick slice of bread, cheese salad and a small bar of Toblerone.
