Ten years of Lufthansa Star Chefs
Lufthansa is celebrating a culinary anniversary this autumn: since the year 2000 the airline has been offering high-quality, inspirational menus to its First and Business Class passengers on long-haul flights from Germany as part of its ‘Star Chefs’ gourmet programme. New menus are created every two months by different top international chefs. Each menu bears the signature of the master chef so passengers can become familiar with their individual cooking style.
Our passengers are the Star Chefs. Attractive innovations for the future
In September and October 2010 our passengers can enjoy a menu which has been chosen in advance online by frequent flyers.
As from November the Star Chef creating the monthly in-flight menus will move firmly to centre stage. Beginning with his culinary influences, Lufthansa wants to give its passengers a deeper insight in future into the philosophy of the respective Star Chef. Business Class passengers will be pleasantly surprised by a totally new presentation of in-flight food: for example, they will be offered an unusual salt to take home if the Star Chef creating the menus is known for creating distinctive flavours with different types of salt.
Furthermore, Lufthansa will be introducing ‘Lufthansa Classics’ to both premium classes. Besides the Star Chef menu, in future classic dishes such as ‘Wiener Schnitzel’ (breaded escalope of veal) or ‘Königsberger Klopse‘ (meatballs with anchovies) will also be served, with a different choice every month.
