At the moment no concrete strike actions are announced, hence the effect of these strike actions on flight operations cannot be estimated at this point in time. As soon as these effects are known, Lufthansa will set up a goodwill policy for all booked passengers. Passengers booked on a flight which has to be canceled due to strike actions, always have the opportunity to rebook once or cancel their flight free of charge.
Flights from Lufthansa Group airlines Lufthansa CityLine, Germanwings, Eurowings, Air Dolomiti, Austrian Airlines, SWISS and Brussels Airlines are not affected by the strike actions and will therefore operate as planned.

The responsible ministries of the interior have announced that passengers must take valid identity documents with them when entering France, Belgium and Luxembourg. Spot checks will also take place for flights arriving from Schengen countries. Non-compliance can result in a fine and an entry ban for these countries. This regulation will initially be valid until mid-December.
In addition it has been abolished for young persons aged 12 to 15 years when travelling in economy class, on all flights departing UK airports on or after 1st March 2016.

This regulation also applies to overflights of US territory, i.e. flights from/to, for example, Canada, Mexico and other Central-American countries, which are scheduled to fly into US airspace.
