Your money back if it rains: Lufthansa travel insurance with a sunshine guarantee
"I hope it won’t rain" – now you can confidently push this thought aside when booking your flight on www.lufthansa.com because, in cooperation with the European Travel Insurance (Europäische Reiseversicherung ERV), we are offering you a sunshine guarantee for all Lufthansa flights starting in Germany. Take out this cover and you will receive €25 back per person for every day it rains on your holiday (valid for bookings on the German website paid for by credit card or direct debit).
Terms and conditions for the Lufthansa sunshine guarantee:
- Flat-rate reimbursement of € 25 per person for each day of rain
- maximum reimbursement of € 200 per insured person
- A rainy day is defined as one during which there is rainfall of at least 10 mm per square metre at the place of destination (indicated on the Lufthansa ticket) as measured and indicated
on www.wetteronline.de.
- Minimum stay: one overnight stay
- Maximum stay: 21 days
To claim your refund for rainy days, simply send your booking confirmation, boarding passes for outbound and return flights and a schedule of the days it rained to the insurer no later than four weeks after your return from holiday.
The insurance cover comes into effect on the day of arrival at your destination, if you arrive before 16.00 hrs. If you arrive after 16.00 hrs, the insurance cover begins the following day at 00.00 hrs. The insurance cover ends on your day of departure, provided your flight is after 14.00 hrs. If your flight departs before 14.00 hrs, the insurance cover will end at midnight on the previous day.
