Thanks to our large range of services we make travel for passengers requiring extra assistance worry-free and easy – from booking suitable seats and spending time at the airport through to an enjoyable stay on board.
Reserving a seat and checking in the evening before
When booking a flight, older passengers can reserve a seat which is easy to reach and therefore more suited to their requirements. On Lufthansa long-haul flights such reservations can be made free of charge in all classes. Additionally, for an extra charge it is possible to reserve a seat with more legroom.
The new seats in First Class and Business Class provide outstanding comfort and can be turned into two-metre-long, fully flat beds. Ample comfort will also be offered by the seats in the new Premium Economy Class which offer 50% more space. Premium Economy will be available on some of our long-haul aircraft from November this year.
It is possible to check in the evening before your flight at all airports in Germany, which also ensures a calm start to your journey.
Extensive support at the airport
At airports you need to be able to find your way around. The Lufthansa guides at Frankfurt and Munich airports are available to help passengers with this (there is a charge for this exclusive service). For passengers who have restricted mobility there is a free support service to ensure accessible travel.
There are assistants on hand at our check-in machines at airports worldwide to help passengers with the check-in process.
Excellent food and special meals on board
Special nutrition is important for many older people. Special meals can be ordered up to 24 hours before departure at a travel agency or by calling the Lufthansa Service Centre.
