As a multi-award winning chef, an extremely promising entrepreneur and as a talented author of cookery books, David Burke constantly sets himself new and interesting challenges and meets them very successfully.
He is one of the most successful pioneers of US-American cuisine. During his time at the New York River Café, he experimented with completely new ingredients and cooking techniques which eventually revolutionized American fine dining. As well as his passion for culinary experimentation, David Burke is also an advocate of the concept of ‘culinology’ which blends the culinary arts, nutritional science and food technology to refine the taste of food.
In 2003, with Donatella Arpaia, the entrepreneur opened davidburke & Donatella. This is now known as ‘David Burke Townhouse’, with Burke as the sole owner. Other restaurant openings followed, such as ‘David Burke at Bloomingdale‘s’, a dual concept incorporating both café and restaurant which cemented his reputation as a multi-award winning American chef. Dining at his restaurants is always a pleasure.
Now our passengers will also be able to enjoy his creative dishes on board. But it is not only the main dishes that are worth trying: our First Class passengers can enjoy a David Burke-style dessert: choosing a lollipop from a lolly-dessert tree. As a sweet finale to the Business Class menu, we are also serving an especially creative Star Chef speciality: three different cheesecake lollipops.
